Jim Geraghty’s Twitter came across my feed tonight with this gem:
Chris Matthews has lost his f***ing mind: “He went to the enemy camp tonight, to make the case.”
And then on his post on NRO:
UPDATE: Chris Matthews has made a lot of outrageous, is-he-sober comments over the years, but I don’t know if he’s ever uttered something quite so reprehensible as, “he went to the enemy camp, tonight, to make the case.”
I’m gobsmacked. And blindingly angry. West Point is, to Chris Matthews, the enemy camp. Not Tora Bora, not Osama bin Laden’s tent. West Point, the military academy that educates officers for the Army of the United States of America. Not some f***ing terrorist low life, no, the ARMY is the enemy. The Army, which, by the way, is populated entirely of our sons, brothers, fathers, husbands, wives, daughters, sisters, mothers. Us. WE are the Army.
I want him fired. I want him fired NOW. There is no apology in the world that can make this right. He gets fired.
No American gets away with calling our Army the enemy. NO ONE.
I have to go now, I’m too angry to post without using REALLY foul language.
