Memorial Day

On Veteran’s Day last, I wrote a love letter to the men and women who put their lives on the line for our freedom. My thoughts, prayers and feelings for our military remain unchanged.

Today, however, is a time to remember our fallen warriors.  You can’t hug these guys, you can’t bake them a cake, they’re gone.  You can, however, remember the sacrifices they made to preserve our liberty and freedom, and to bring liberty and freedom in every country where they have fought.  Some we know, like the Revolution and the Civil War.  Other engagements don’t have glorious movies made about them.  I’m sure there are some about which we will never learn.

Valiant. Brave. Courageous. Steadfast. Faithful.  Just a few words to describe their acts.  Heroic too.

Thank you.

Thank you, also, to the families whose sons and daughters served and gave their lives.  My prayers are with you.
