Bob’s Progress Report: Part 1

So, when last we met Bob he was bathing in spices, herbs and fruit. Like this:

That was two days ago.  Bob was getting his flavory on.

Now, Bob is out of his bath and he’s all dried off.

I tucked a wee blanket of bacon around Bob, stuffed his cavities loosely with an orange, lime, lemon and herbs.

Now, Bob is roasting in a 350 degree oven.  He’s already visited the 450 degree oven for 30 minutes.  His best friend right now is broth.

By the way, when I cleaned out Bob’s cavities I found he had two necks.  Sweet!  How cool is that?  I got a mutant turkey!!

See Bob’s two necks?  Right there, in the bowl with the rest of his insides.  I made the liver into something I thought my cat, Moxie, would enjoy.  Not so much.  I don’t get her some times.

Right now Bob’s two necks are becoming gravy.

So, there you have it.

Happy Eating!

My nameless turkey will never, ever be introduced to Bob and all his finery. I would never hear the end of it!

  2. Phelps says:

My mother went ahead and cooked the offal that didn’t make it into the gravy for the dogs, since the big one won’t eat raw meat. He still wouldn’t eat it.

The little yipyip dog scarfed it all down, though. And he likes raw meat.

Who ever heard of a dog that won’t eat offal?

Moxie ended up licking the floor underneath where Dad carved Bob. She likes the meat and turns up her nose at liver. She policed the area around the trash can as we scraped the dishes after dinner taking care of any stray bits of turkey that happened to fall. God forbid you should put it in her dish, she can’t be bothered. Knucklehead.

Come to think of it, Moxie would claw her way up my leg for chocolate pudding but can’t be bothered with liver. Is she even a cat? What is up with that?

    It’s anarchy.
